Indexxero

Know what your retention number will look like after someone else rebuilds it.

When a company raises money or sells, the investor or buyer does not take the numbers on trust. They rebuild them from the raw data, and the price moves on what they find. Indexxero does that rebuild first, for the company, so the founder walks in already knowing what will hold.

What we do

You send us your exports. You get three things back.

The numberGross revenue retention rebuilt from your raw exports, not read off a dashboard.
A manifestA short file that lets anyone check on their own machine, with nothing installed and nothing connected, that the report they hold has not been changed since it was sealed.
What could not be measuredIf a figure cannot be supported by the data you sent, we say so in plain words instead of printing a zero.

That third one is the part other tools leave out, and it is the part a diligence team will find anyway.

What it looks like

Every line says whether it was measured.

# example, not a real company gross_revenue_retention 0.861 measured net_revenue_retention nil not yet offered in pilots logo_churn_12m nil not yet offered in pilots expansion_by_cohort nil unmeasurable: no plan history in export content_hash sha256:9f3a2c…c41e method_version 1.0.0

The last two lines are how a stranger checks that the report matches the file it came from. The fourth line is what most tools would have shown as 0.

Everything we have proved so far, with the files and commands to check each claim yourself, is at proved.html. The demonstration on a synthetic book of customers is at proof.html.

When it matters

A few months before an investor or a buyer rebuilds your numbers.

Outside those moments this is not a problem anyone feels. That is fine. It is built for the moment, not for every day.

Who it is for

Subscription software companies, and the person who owns the number.

Seed to Series B, typically 1 to 20 million in annual recurring revenue. The industry does not matter much. What matters is recurring revenue and one of the moments above coming up.

We work with whoever owns the number. At a small company that is the founder. At a larger one it is the CFO or the head of finance.

Not a fit Companies without recurring revenue. Companies not near one of those moments. Anyone looking mainly for a churn prediction dashboard. This offer is the rebuild, not a prediction.
How it works

Three steps.

  1. You send the exports you already have. CSV or spreadsheet exports from your billing, subscription or CRM system. One row per account, or one per account per month. The columns we look for: an account id, a start date, a cancellation date or a status, and MRR or ARR. A plan name helps and is optional. If your columns are named differently we map them and show you the mapping before anything runs.
  2. We rebuild your gross revenue retention and produce the manifest. We tell you how long that will take before you send anything, and if your columns need mapping we say so up front rather than guessing.
  3. You get the result, the manifest and the list of what could not be measured, and we walk you through it.

To see first whether your export can support the figures, try the retention readiness check, which runs in your browser and never sends your file anywhere.

Before you send anything, we tell you in writing where your file will live, who can see it, and when it is deleted.

Where we are

Early, and honest about it.

No customers yet, and no real company's data yet either. The checking, sealing and verification steps have run end to end on a messy export we built to look like a real one, with the headers, date formats and duplicates real exports have. The retention calculation from an export is being finished now. The first few companies get it free. What we ask for in return is the story of how it went, and permission to use your name if it goes well.

If you are a few months out from a raise or a sale, or you know someone who is, we would like to talk.
